Will assist technology team to support trading environment. 1-3 years experience in a financial environment. Preferred skills include SQL, Excel, (oracle, sybase is a plus) BI tools, reporting tools, business objects is a plus. Strong com skills.

Application Support Analyst

Main responsibilities:

•Provide front-line user support for firms applications, applying best practice incident management processes

• Perform root cause analysis of issues, identify possible resolutions, and communicate with global IT organization to coordinate back-end technical support and initiate change management requests

• Assist in testing problem resolutions as well as major product releases

• Participate in UAT with the relevant IT product teams and business stakeholders

• Contribute to knowledge base by documenting and communicating issues, resolutions, and enhancements Technical skills, competencies and experience:

• Significant experience working within a commodities or financial trading environment

• Ability to write SQL queries (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Plus) for troubleshooting, data analysis, and user assistance

• Very strong Excel skills, including the ability to design, write and support Excel macros on complex workbooks

• Experience with one or more of the following:  Trading and Risk Management systems  Exchange Trading Execution systems o Reporting Tools: Business Object, PowerBI, Tableau

• Good understanding of core IT disciplines, specifically incident management, change management, business analysis and project management

• Proven customer-facing skills in a high-pressure environment

• Ability to handle multiple important requests and issues coming concurrently, assess urgency, prioritize, coordinate work, and follow-up until complete resolution

• Ability to learn quickly and independently

• Ability to ‘dig into’ a problem, drilling down into system functionality, analyzing patterns, coming up with scenarios to prove assumptions

• Good time management and organization skills

• Excellent communication skills, must be able to listen, understand, translate, and update stakeholders at all levels in the user community and in IT Position:

• Located next to Grand Central Station Currently operating on a hybrid model (2-3 days/week in the office, remaining days at home)

• Working closely with IT peers in USA and London

• Member of the Application Support team in the US IT organization
