RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Work as part of the global Investment Banking Division (IBD) Data and Platforms Engineering team to design, develop and enhance the division's data analytics platform, including warehouse, data Extract/Transform/Load (ETL), reporting, visualization, modeling and services. Define and develop the next generation of banking ETL tools and workflows, and integrate them with the firm's Data Lake ecosystem and other Big Data solutions. Use Scala, Java, Spark and HDFS to store and process large datasets with complex refinement logic. Conduct proof of concept (POC) on leveraging public Cloud offerings (e.g. AWS) to support IBD's warehouse and ETL needs and identify suitable use cases. Develop and support existing ETL workflows built around SQL Server, Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, SSIS, Java, C# and proprietary technologies. Support all data domains on IBD's analytics platform, including deals, clients, vendor market data and revenues/expenses. Formulate design pattern, governance model and best practices around IBD's warehouse and ETL workflows, including infrastructure setup, software development lifecycle definition, content implementation, automated testing and end user support. Provide mentoring to junior developers. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and related tools, for build, source control, unit/integration test and release management; and Windows and Linux development environment. Must have four (4) years of experience with: design and development with Object oriented programming languages in C++, Java, or C#; and Source control tools, such as SVN, TFS, or GIT. Must have two (2) years of experience with: any enterprise RDBMS, such as MS SQL-Server, Oracle, Sybase ASE and/or columnar data stores such as Sybase IQ and Agile methodology. Must have one (1) year of experience with: designing, developing, and deploying large scale enterprise data ETL and analytics solutions (data size > 1TB), including database implementation, data storage, and processing using Apache Spark, HDFS, and Java; Hadoop distributions, such as Cloudera, Hortonworks, or MapR; application deployment on Linux (under Apache or Tomcat) and/or Windows servers; working on multiple IT development projects concurrently; and working with or developing enterprise ETL tools, such as Informatica or SSIS.
