The Tax On-Boarding Team is a dynamic team of industry professionals who work collaboratively with senior management, sales teams, legal, and risk to facilitate Societe Generale's new business pipeline. The team leverages their expertise, experience, technology, and relationships across the firm to manage the tax and regulatory components of the client on-boarding process. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Manage the tax onboarding team (onshore & offshore) tasked with reviewing documentation received for new customers and ensure accuracy from a FATCA, CRS, DFA and French Banking Law (FBL) perspective. Identify situations that could arise which indicate U.S indicia or inconsistencies between the KYC documents received and the W-8 form. Identify Changes in circumstances on existing accounts in accordance with requirements under the Internal Revenue Code Tax form validation Perform surveillance by reviewing exception reports and perform periodic reasonableness checks of W-8 forms Review tax forms for expiration; coordinate with internal counterparts to obtain updated forms Review monthly GIIN List from IRS versus our customer master data Create and provide periodic statistical information status reports relative to FATCA and other Tax Withholding /Reporting relative to other Internal Revenue Code Chapters Profile Required Competencies: Solid financial and credit analytical skills Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills Strong problem solving and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multitask. Ability to examine processes and procedures, experience with Process Re-engineering, Re-design and Process Automation Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills Proactive Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-focused environment Team player Ability to work independently Technical Skills: Understanding of U.S. tax information withholding & reporting requirements applicable to products issued by CIB business, to U.S. Persons and non-U.S. Persons Ability to interact with all levels of internal customers and senior management Knowledge of FATCA, CRS, DFA regulations, inter-governmental agreements and associated reporting requirements Understanding and working knowledge of IRS Forms W-9 and W-8 and their associated requirements; Forms 1098, 1099 series, and 1042-S; Forms 945 and 1042 Well-versed in recent regulatory changes, e.g. Dodd Frank, 871M, CRS and FATCA Liaison with Corporate Tax for complex tax inquiries and policy requirements Desired / Plus: Project Management experience Polished presentation skills Qualifications: Minimum 7 years banking/finance experience Minimum 3 years of management experience Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree Desired / Plus:MBA SUPERVISION DUTIES:
