Job Description

Verisk is hiring a Payroll Manager to oversee and supervise our payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time and accurately. In this role, you'll review and approve final payroll summary reports for electronic distribution  You'll also review and approve foreign monthly payrolls in various countries.  The successful candidate will maintain active communication between Human Resources and Benefits teams on an ongoing basis.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Lead the payroll integration for new acquisitions.
  • Review for accuracy and approve payroll commissions, bonuses, severance, and vacation payments.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests and maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.


  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience processing payroll in multi-state and international environments.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a payroll management position.
  • Ability to manage several direct reports and aid in coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Significant knowledge of payroll functions, processing, and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
  • Experience with M&A integration of payroll a plus.
  • Experience with payroll systems within a cloud-based ERP system preferred.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Proven track record in scheduling tasks efficiently, providing timely responses to payroll inquiries, and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Extremely high level of integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Facilitate a respectful work environment.
