MQ Support Analyst
Our Team Clearing, Markets & Issuer Services Technology (CMIST) is responsible for application development and support for critical business systems including Repo Edge (collateral management), Enterprise Payment Hub (multi-currency payment processing), and Broker Dealer Clearance (securities clearing), along with approximately 350 other applications used by the following high-priority business services and their clients. CMIST Technology Production Services is dedicated to ensuring that our technology environments are best in class. Our Production Services teams runs the systems that keep BNY Mellon running. Our mission is to deliver a full IT service management lifecycle across all run-the-bank applications and infrastructure support with the purpose of providing a controlled, secure, and predictable production environment. The Role We are seeking an IBM MQ Support Analyst. You will provide leadership and seasoned expertise within this space. Our goals within the MQS team eliminate or minimize vulnerabilities, improve our operation efficiency, seek better ways to monitor and provide world class support for our MQ appliances. We do all this while maintain resiliency. Our environment consists of Linux and Windows running IBM MQ in a distributed environment. Your role will key as a part of our global support model. You will a part of our global production support team providing on-demand as well scheduled support for our highly critical LOB. You will provide recommendations for continuous improvement which is aligned for our global technology standards. Our team consults with LOB's both internally and outside of BNY to ensure seamless and successful customer experience. Responsibilities: Must support highly critical applications Lead technical triage activities for Low to medium severity incidents Complete critical requests on demand to support and weekend coverage of our clients and application. Troubleshoot complex production issues, leverage partner teams and learn from Subject Matter Experts. Facilitate continuous improvement to increase stability, client delight and operational excellence Able to be successful in a matrixed structure with a globally dispersed virtual team. Involved in Disaster Recovery Activity. Designs, implements, integrates, and provides full support for software in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment. Performs complex troubleshooting as a subject matter expert. Works to ensure appropriate monitoring and alerting setup. Works on root cause analysis and problem management to address underlying technical issues. Collaborates with business and application development stakeholders. Monitors infrastructure and respond to incidents, perform routine health checks and validations after changes or significant incidents, follows defined procedures for routine, low priority incident resolution. Escalate to second level infrastructure support for new or high priority incidents, Review and execute Change Management scripts. Contributes to major incident management calls for resolution of high priority incidents.May mentor or provide guidance for junior team members. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives MODIFIED BASED UPON LOCAL REGULATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred 6 - 8 years of related infrastructure experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred 6 - 8 years of related infrastructure experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus Required: IBM MQ Cluster setup (Distributed Queue Management) Knowledge of IBM MQ on Linux Strong working understanding of different operating systems like Linux, Windows and Mainframe. Ability to interact with all levels of an organization, including management Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Solid problem-solving skills Strong analytical skills including the ability to research and resolve confirmation discrepancies Weekend support is required Preferred: Experience with IBM MQ appliances (v8.0 or higher) - configuration, upgrade etc. Hands-on experience in configuring SSL. Hands-on experience in configuring MQIPT.
