This group is responsible for managing and analysing massive amounts of data and supporting the whole GOT organization in delivering value from data. This individual will be managing the implementation of a range of data insights initiatives from ideation to delivery. Key Focus Areas: • Support in the stand up of the Data Metrics and Insights team in India to drive the global mandate of the function • Contribute towards defining and achieving the objectives of the function • Enable data to drive the business strategy through data insights and advanced analytics: Data capture - identify and streamline the process of accessing data from upstream system in an automated fashion by leveraging the available technologies in the bank Data analysis and data enrichment - conduct analysis of multiple data sets and conduct necessary transformations to make it business and use case ready. Augment data by combining internal and external data as needed Data visualization - develop data and analytics delivery by developing easy to consume visualizations using dashboarding and analytics tools Data upkeep - Manage the health of the data under the data governance principles • Develop ideas for new products, metrics and analytics initiatives and generates buy-in from the Operations and Technology leadership • Work with senior stakeholders in Operations and Technology to develop metrics and insights to develop deeper understanding of the core functions in the GOT teams • Collaborate with Technology, Operations and Enterprise Data Management functions to develop and maintain a technology infrastructure aligned with enterprise analytics needs • Deliver reports and presentations to senior leaders Analyzes application requirements and develops conceptual, logical and first-cut physical database designs (data models). Creates associated data model documentation such as entity and attribute definitions and formats. Assists in logical data designs to deliver stable and flexible high performance data solutions. Investigates and corrects data discrepancies by reconciling faulty codes. Provides data element naming consistent with standards and conventions and ensures that data dictionaries are maintained across multiple database environments (mainframe, distributed systems). Ensures data content/quality by planning and conducting moderately complex data warehouse system tests, monitoring test results and taking required corrective action. Acts as a liaison to data owners to establish necessary data stewardship responsibilities (accountability for a particular data element/verifying accuracy of the data element before loading it into the database) and procedures. Analyzes and designs data models, logical databases and relational database definitions using both forward and backward engineering techniques. Seeks opportunities to promote data sharing, and to reduce redundant data processes within the corporation by identifying common structures across application areas. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives. Qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: The Ideal candidate will have experience and/or knowledge in one or more of the following: • 3-5 years of experience working within capital markets and banking with 5+ years of experience in the domain of data • Demonstrable skills in consulting and partnering with cross functional stakeholders to uncover business questions and aligning analytics initiatives that deliver insights to inform data-driven decisions. • Ability to influence at senior executive levels and to rally a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders towards a common cause, thereby ensuring their buy-in and engagement • Strong desire to innovate, collaborate and influence to drive continuous improvement and business development • Strong analytical mindset and skills, including the ability to break down complex data scenarios into digestible components with the initiative to dig into the ""why"" of various results. • Strong business acumen and analytical capability; ability to consolidate information into clear, concise analysis to derive key insights for effective decision making • Domain expertise in data governance, data management (data quality, metadata management, master data management), reporting and analytics • Organizational awareness with ability to balance the viewpoints of diverse stakeholders • Excellent communication skills with strong experience in managing cross-functional stakeholders • Ability to operate with a high level of energy, commitment, and enthusiasm to take on a complex, challenging role in a dynamic, fast-paced organization • Provide guidance on KPIs and reporting to meet business objectives • Aggregating metadata to build profiles of teams and users • Building data workflows to pull, manipulate, and output across variety of streams • Advanced knowledge of Agile working methods, eg Scrum/Kanban • Knowledge of Visualization Tools e.g. Tableau, ThoughtSpot Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 4-6 years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, data entity analysis, logical and relational database design, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
