Group Manager, Project/Program Management->> Manages a medium to large-sized or multiple small teams of project managers who are the primary contact for clients and groups within the organization for small to medium scale projects. The team is responsible for end to end project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue / risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management and other project documentation preparation. Serves as a liaison between clients and internal technical groups to ensure delivery of small scale to medium scale projects on time, within budget, and to specification. Manages communication with the business at a detailed functional level and discusses/resolves issues. Manages client expectations and ensures project delivery is in conformance with company software development life cycle methodologies. Proactively manages a team of project managers. Provides guidance on business and technical subject matter to associates. Conducts status meetings and facilitates risk mitigation and resolution of more complex issues. Directs, recruits, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Recommends enhancements to project management tools / techniques and software development life cycle methodologies. Facilitates testing preparation and test execution. Manages one or more project management teams. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.
The candidate is responsible for end to end program management activities such as project planning, issue, risk identification, mitigation and tracking, scope management, technology estimation management, financial management and stakeholder management for large strategic client initiatives. The candidate needs to be experienced reporting to both internal and client executive management as well as working closely with project teams to ensure on time, on schedule and on budget delivery. The candidate will serve as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure constant planning and communication in order to reduce risks and set expectations. The Program Manager will work with project teams made up of business, technology and product management to lead programs through multi-year programs while keeping teams motivated and on plan. The Program Manager will mentor associates and lead them through the deliver lifecycle and communicate to the firm the status and challenges that a program is experiencing. The candidate will also work closely with the Business Development team on new opportunities and will be responsible for participating in creating financial models with return on investment analysis. Finally, the Program Manager will be a leader in the PMO responsible for recommending enhancements to the DLC process, project management tools / techniques and software development life cycle methodologies. Bachelor's degree, preferably in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 8 + years of related project management experience required, experience with technology and/or the financial services industry is a plus.
