Credit Risk Analyst
Our Client, a global investment bank, is seeking a Credit Risk Business Analyst for its Jersey City location.

  • Work as a business analyst on US RISQ sponsored projects including the single-counterparty credit limits (SCCL) project
  • Work with internal clients (mainly RISQ, but also Finance and Data Management teams) to collect and analyze business requirements
  • Document requirements, specifications and present them in simple, clear and concise manner
  • Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
  • Assist project manager with input on project plan tasks as well as identification and assessment of project risks
  • Participate in project Operating Committee meetings and workshops
  • Work with the development team to ensure that they understand the specifications and the delivery correspond to business expectations
  • Work with users to define test scenarios and support testing to ensure the testing results meet requirement specifications
  • Ensure that issues are identified, tracked, reported on and addressed in a timely manner
  • Understand and apply production fundamentals and practices as a part of agile feature team
  • Provide input and insight to team members in design, development, documentation, testing and valuable expertise in building systems.
  • Partner with application support/development teams in NY, Jersey City, and Montreal
  • Assess, review and understanding strengths and weaknesses in current business processes and recommends options, risks and cost vs. benefits

  • 3+ years experience as a business analyst in a technology team at an investment bank
  • 1+ year experience working with credit risk and credit risk systems

Qualifications (Desired):
  • Experience with securities financing and derivatives (listed or OTC) is preferred
  • Experience with the US single-counterparty credit limits (SCCL) rule is a plus
  • Knowledge of client referential data is a plus

Technical Skills:
  • Ability to understand and write SQL for purposes of investigation, analysis, and testing (writing stored procedures is not required)
  • Ability to collect and document business requirements
  • Ability to write functional specifications and document business and system processes
  • Advanced skills in using tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and JIRA
  • Experience with and full understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience with coordinating and integration and user acceptance testing
  • Knowledge of Change Management & Release Management practices

Technical Skills (Desired):
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence tools, particularly Power BI, is a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is a plus
  • Familiarity with APIs

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to solve problems with a keen eye for details; a desire to learn and contribute solutions and ideas to the team
  • Ability to understand and analyze business processes & workflows with the objective of providing recommendations for the best use of technology
  • Ability to interact with a variety of internal clients and support staff: risk managers and analysts, project managers, and global development teams
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and use judgment to prioritize and escalate to achieve desired outcomes

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related concentration
