Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Oversee portions of accounting, inclusive of review of underlying books and records and validation of management and incentive fee calculations, for the BDC funds managed by Goldman Sachs. Prepare and coordinate completion of public quarterly/annual financial statements. Liaise with third party administrator, independent auditor, and internal teams such as credit alternatives (deal team), legal, tax, and operations regarding accounting and financial reporting matters. Develop, monitor, and enhance Sarbanes-Oxley (404) internal control over financial reporting for the BDC funds managed by Goldman Sachs. Participate in due diligence process related to new investments to identify operational control risks. Assess accounting implications associated with modifications/changes to existing investments and debt products and liaise with the deal team with results. Research new accounting pronouncements/SEC announcements and their impact to the financial statements based on findings develop the relevant disclosure updates and processes around producing those updated disclosures. Prepare and present quarterly results of operations/trends to the Chief Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer. Prepare reports for presentation to the BDC's Board of Directors.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting or Finance. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related accounting role within the financial services industry. Prior work experience must include at least three (3) years with: Applying understanding of investment company structures; Applying understanding of US GAAP as it relates to investment companies (ASC 946); Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP; Preparing or reviewing SEC financial reporting; Preparing or reviewing management fee calculations; and Preparing or reviewing incentive fee calculations.
