The Bank of New York Mellon seeks an Architect, Application Development in Jersey City, NJ, to design technical infrastructure for applications and translate user requirements to process data needs. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation: Performing analysis and applications program development using visualization techniques to represent relationships, related data entries, and traversal; Using relational DB concepts, including SQL, JDBC and Data Integration; Utilizing J2EE, IBM WebSphere MQ, Oracle Database, DB2 databases, Java Message Service (JMS) to develop software components; Designing tools including UML Diagrams, Microsoft Visio, and Confluence Gliffy to design enterprise application architecture; Utilizing development Tools like JCL, IBM TSO, ISPF Tool, Z/OS 3270 Screen, Mainframe VSAM datasets including BMC, Xpeditor, and File-Aid to analyze the Mainframe software components business logic and system flow to re-design the application on distributed platform; Providing design solutions to business problems and technical challenges using Java and J2EE design patterns including Gang of Four (GOF) and Core Java; Re-engineering legacy CICS applications running on Mainframe written in CICS and COBOL language using VSAM and DB2 as data store into EJB Application with the IBM RAD tool; and Using Mainframe Distributed and Middleware technologies to re-engineer business critical applications running on Mainframe to Distributed cloud platform for operational efficiency and technology upgrade.
