Position Summary: In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the latest technologies to design, develop and contribute towards an Intranet based Enterprise Infrastructure Information Portal. You will be challenged to solve complex problems related to application performance, user experience and data visualization to support the requirements of senior leadership as well as users across various lines of business within the organization.
The objective is to provide a single pane of glass for making applications and infrastructure information available at fingertips with ease of navigation with considerations for data quality, responsiveness across various delivery platforms such as desktops and hand held devices. This information is key to support various financial decision-making, risk mitigation and resiliency initiatives, organizational and technology KPI's among many other use cases. You will be key to developing some of these applications as outlined in groups objectives for forthcoming year and after.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Document technical specifications such as high and low level design, logical data flow and workflow and flow charts
  • Design and develop code.
  • Lead design discussions, implementation and development planning, testing and release coordination.

Description:
  • Consults with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support.
  • Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon's standard development methodology.
  • Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications.
  • Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group.
  • Contributes to defining time tables and project plans.
  • Analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs.
  • Takes lead for establishing, implementing and monitoring 'best practices' for technical development methodologies and tools.
  • Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions.
  • Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands on UI Development experience using Typescript, JavaScript (ES6/ES7), HTML5, SCSS/CSS3
  • Solid understanding of unit testing using Karma / Jasmine integrated testing frameworks
  • Expert Knowledge on Angular 6+, Material, Bootstrap 4 Frameworks for Single Page Applications
  • Strong communication skills and experience with Agile Methodology
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, 8-10 years of experience in software development required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Java Spring Frameworks, Restful Web API services, Maven build automation tool
  • Ability to read and understand SQL interactions made by the backend for services being used by the UI
  • Experience with Version Control (preferably Git), DevOps Tools (Jenkins, Docker) and Agile Project Management tools (JIRA)
  • Knowledge of and interest in large scale technology infrastructure data and how it's used within corporate environments to drive decision making
