Accounting Manager - Leading Investment Firm

Description

• Actively participate in the Personal Investing monthly accounting close.

• Review recurring and one-time journal entries ensuring proper and adequate support.

• Review account reconciliations verifying proper substantiation of account balance.

• Assist in the timely, accurate and complete preparation and review of financial reporting.

• Review the compilation of financial commentary on monthly results.

• Prepare, reconcile and communicate accounting information.

• Participate in the development and completion of special projects as assigned.

• Respond to inquiries from management and other teams within the Corporate Accounting and Controllership function, as well as other teams outside the group, including Finance, Regulatory, Compliance, Treasury, auditors, and regulatory agencies.

• Assist in annual audit process with external auditors, including the preparation of audit schedules.

• Perform technical accounting research.

• Keep abreast of the business, introduction of new products, industry trends, and the impact of accounting issues on the business.

Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

• CPA and/or advanced degree preferred

• 5-7 years' relevant experience

• Strong understanding of technical accounting principles, practices and internal controls

• Brokerage accounting a plus
