Front End Developer

As a Barclays Front End Developer, you will be collaborating with engineers in the team, designers and internal stakeholders. You will use latest standards in web development, modern technologies and frameworks to develop large front end web applications that work across multiple browsers and mobile apps. You will also interface with UI Tech Domain to adopt as well as contribute to best practices in implementing UI components.

What will you be doing?

• Collaborating with other designers and engineers to create elegant, usable, and interactive applications and tools
• Turning UI/UX designs into prototypes, creating elegant interactive UI, and reusable components
• Developing UI components using modern languages and frameworks
• Producing clean, efficient, maintainable and testable code based on specification
• Using test-driven development to write top quality and well tested front-end code
• Reviewing and optimizing the application usage by monitoring key metrics and rectifying issues pro-actively
• Taking complete ownership of code and works on complete SDLC of the product including design, development, testing, deployment and production support

What are we looking for?

• Refine technical specifications to ensure the quality of project deliverables into production and provide a positive customer experience
• High degree of fluency and experience using technologies like HTML, CSS, Javascript, TypeScript, React
• Experience developing Microservice, APIs (Rest, GraphQL) and using Containerization technologies (Docker) and Serverless services to deploy
• Using React to build highly optimized and scalable world-class single-page applications

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Technology / Computer Science background desirable Purpose and Value
• Solid skills in object oriented design and development and working knowledge of grids with large sets of data with real-time updates
• Working knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies, Jenkins or CI/CD tools is a plus
• One+ year solid work experience in a financial services environment is a plus
