Introduction


The Americas Cash Settlements focuses on confirmation, settlement and reconciliation of cash transactions with internal and external clients for Foreign Exchange (FX), Money Markets, Over the Counter (OTC) Derivatives, and Primeswap products. Along with the EMEA and APAC regions, we provide operational support across various Credit Suisse (CS) entities within the Investment Banking divisions, working across the front-to-back processing areas to resolve discrepancies and enquiry requests.
The team is composed of highly motivated individuals, who communicate effectively, have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and continuously seek to improve our processes. The Team Manager for this role develops specialized product and industry knowledge while engaging in day-to-day responsibilities and ad hoc projects.
Role

  • Develop and maintain a high performing team by setting yearly objectives in line with departmental goals with clear communication on expectations and hold staff accountable for their performance
  • Conduct regular one-to-one with direct reports, provide regular feedback, advice, coaching and mentoring to ensure staff are challenged with continued growth
  • Identify and build the next generation for effective succession plans
  • Manage the team's Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) by daily monitoring and conducting supervisory challenges on potential control risks and collecting trends that lead to that
  • Ensure team adherence to timely confirmations (on Trade Date) and settlement of cash
  • Ensure all cash breaks within scope are investigated and resolved in adherence to department guidelines
  • Take proactive measures to identify and resolve potential issues and exceptions, with timely reporting to the management team
  • Keep up to date on internal and external policies and regulations to ensure the team is compliant in the day to day settlement process
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and foster positive relationships with internal and external clients at all times
  • Key liaison to Clients, Front Office and Trade Management teams as necessary to resolve breaks and discrepancies in a fast paced environment
  • Participate and drive various initiatives to increase efficiency and control whilst reducing costs

  • Understand the front-to-back process workflow and the impact of the function's activities on the downstream process

  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree, Finance or Business Major preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Management experience
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external clients in a professional, courteous, and client-focused manner
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Confirmed ability to prioritize, multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Collaborative approach and a great teammate
  • Basic excel knowledge is required, whilst advanced Excel is a plu
  • IB Operations experience is a plus
