Technology Partnership Development - Analyst

Job Description:

The Technology Partnership Development team discovers and introduces emerging technologies, fosters and strengthens technology partnerships across Bank of America's broad technology ecosystem and communicates enterprise strategy to Venture Capital Firms and start-ups . The team works closely with stakeholders in strategy, leadership and technology roles across Bank of America, resulting in a unique view of the enterprise across all lines of business.
The team is seeking an experienced individual to lead the following:

  • Emerging technology evaluation. Lead engagement with emerging technology companies and the venture capital community, sharing our macro views on technology, providing updates on portfolio companies, and learning about new relevant companies. Partner internally with business & technology groups and understand their strategies and goals. Focus areas of this role could include spaces such as infrastructure, application development, artificial intelligence and machine learning, financial technology, information security, and enterprise software.
  • Business development. Leverage technology thought leadership with the goal of helping drive Firm revenue. Engage with Global Corporate and Investment Banking and clients; Equity Research, Sales & Trading and clients; and other front office business partners. This client-facing role requires strong communication skills, both written and oral, and a keen understanding of the business needs and technology strategies across the Firm.
  • Strategic partnership development. Engage with strategic partners to optimize vendor spending, relationship capital, and industry leadership. This role requires organizing, structuring and leading executive briefings with vendors, practitioners, and partners; leading follow-up activities; and identifying areas and opportunities to reduce technology costs, reduce risk, and increase business-enabling technology capabilities.

Specific job activities would include:
  • Prepare briefing materials on vendor relationships and technology strategies for CIOs, CTOs, and Executive Leadership
  • Maintain our internal relationship tracking for companies and Venture Capital Firms
  • Engage with corporate and investment banking teams on vendor information exchange
  • Relationship responsibility for leading emerging vendors to executives in Global Technology & Operations and lines of business
  • Assist in the planning of our Technology Summits (NYC, Bay Area)
  • Develop enterprise-wide views of our strategic vendor relationships (public & private) for CTOs/CIOs and above
  • Participate in and find internal experts for market overview calls with BofAML institutional clients; coordinated with Equity Sales team
  • Research key technology areas (i.e. financial technology, artificial Intelligence, information security, etc.) to assist our technology and business executives on long-term strategic planning

Required Skills / Experience:
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong capability with Microsoft Office suite
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in the evolving technology ecosystem and a desire to continue learning
  • Adaptability and comfort functioning within a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to navigate a large organization
Desired Skills / Experience:
  • BA/BS degree
  • Functional knowledge and a strong interest in technology, including but not limited to key focus areas: hybrid cloud, application development, artificial intelligence and machine learning, financial technology, information security, and enterprise software
  • Basic understanding and/or strong desire to learn and understand capital markets related to venture capital, investment banking, corporate banking, and/or institutional equities
