Job Summary

As a Senior UC Engineer at Barings, you will be part of an amazing group that delivers class leading Unified Communications solutions. The ideal candidate for the Senior UC Engineer role must have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience within Cisco Unified Communications with a focus on multi cluster environments, engineering and implementation. A team player who can own environment architecture. This is a highly customer facing role. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. The Senior UC Engineer will be responsible for tactical and strategic Unified Communications (UC) environment and design, Including, but not limited to monitoring and optimization of IP telephony, video and mobility solutions based on Cisco best practices.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Predicts emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them.
  • Company Unified Communications thought leader and SME.
  • Functional subject matter expert for IP Telephony product suite, Video Conferencing, IM&P and Cisco UCaaS (Webex/Teams).
  • Tier 3 technical escalation resource for voice video, IM&P and other UC services that support the Business.
  • Develops pioneering approaches to emerging industry trends within the Unified Communications space.
  • Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business.
  • Can lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives.
  • Translates highly complex concepts into ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
  • Influences leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches.
  • Directs cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams.
  • Provide project support and implementation for Unified Communications applications and services.
  • Assist and Develop support team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Expertise with all aspects of Cisco UC environment components including, but not limited to CUCM, UCCX, Call Center, Unity, Unity Connection, CUBE, Jabber (IM&P), WebEx, Webex Teams, Expressway C/E, VC Endpoint configuration, CER, TMS, TMS-XE, PLM, and PCD.
  • Experience with designing, deploying and supporting globally diverse Cisco UC environments.
  • 3+ years experience in Legacy Telephony and VOIP
  • Understanding of voice control protocols (Primarily SIP, but also SCCP MGCP) and voice codes (G.711, G.729, among others)
  • Experience with designing and implementing voice gateways and applications
  • Understanding of traditional PBX, POTS Lines, PRI, and SIP technologies
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Visio
  • Cisco CCNP Collaboration Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong networking background; knowledge of IP protocols, routing, and switching; strong working knowledge of security (firewall, authentication, cloud security
  • Understanding of Video technologies and products including Cisco Telepresence
  • 5+ years experience in Cisco Unified Communications/IP Telephony solutions and other Voice and Data Networking technologies
  • Excellent communication skills
