Risk Analysis Specialist II
Job Description:

The Credit Risk Analysis and Reporting team develops, executes and enhances a suite of reports that allows our risk and business partners effectively manage and identify credit risk. This reporting ensures the bank can deliver responsible growth within our risk framework. The team is focused on automation and uses BI tools such as Microsoft BI tools (SSRS) and Tableau to efficiently deliver timely and accurate information.

The reporting/data analyst will be responsible for developing automated, routine reporting and support ad-hoc requests for information and analysis relating to both Portfolio and Counterparty Credit Risk. The candidate will have an understanding of internal information systems, relational databases and knowledge of how to use various BI tools to access multiple information sources for analytical purposes. The candidate should have proven background in reporting or analysis. In addition to regular reporting the reporting/data analyst responds to ad-hoc requests for information by asking pertinent, clarifying questions, identifying the relevant data needed to satisfy the request and presenting the information to the requester in a clear and concise manner.

We follow best practice for reporting and data management and the successful candidate should be comfortable working in an environment with strong reporting governance and controls. We strive to automate all our reporting and processes and want the BI reporting analyst to have a process improvement mindset, be resourceful and a problem solver.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience within a financial institution, ideally within either Credit or Market Risk
  • Proficient using SQL and relational databases, in particular extracting data with complex queries
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis and data connections
  • Exceptional attention to detail to both content and presentation of information, and avoids complacency with routine processes
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical business teams around the world
  • Displays intellectual curiosity to challenge the status quo and tackle challenging problems

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Traded Products or Counterparty Credit Risk experience
  • Experience working with Global Markets
  • Knowledge of Bank of America systems - CRP and Credit Studio
  • Proficient using one or more of Tableau, Microsoft BI tools (SSRS), Oracle Exadata, Python or Git/Bitbucket
