Title: Product Management Analyst

Job Summary

Barings seeks an analyst to join its Product Management team. Responsibilities will include working closely with both investment and sales teams in several key areas: creating and maintaining marketing materials, product messaging, competitor analysis, and responding to prospective investor inquiries regarding product structure, portfolio composition and other types of analysis. The position will be located in Barings Charlotte office and will report to a Managing Director on the Global Product Management Team.

In the role, the analyst will gain valuable insight into 1) middle-market direct lending investments, 2) structuring of private investment funds and separately managed accounts, 3) interrelationships between businesses in a large, multi-strategy investment firm, and 4) institutional marketing of private funds.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Working together with sales team, investment team and back and middle offices to respond to requests for data and/or presentation materials in a timely manner
  • Assisting in production of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual marketing materials
  • Basic modeling
  • Managing data for external and internal requests
  • Working with Compliance to obtain necessary approvals on materials
  • Formatting and maintaining external and internal presentations in PowerPoint
  • Coordinating meetings for projects and managing follow-ups

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from a top tier university
  • Corporate finance, investment management or marketing experience (educational and/or work experience)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word in order to produce high quality presentations
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong time management, organizational, facilitation and collaboration skills
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel if needed
