Job Summary

Barings is seeking an intern to join its Macroeconomic and Geopolitical Research Team in Charlotte, NC. The team is looking for an enterprising, ambitious and intellectually - curious professional.

Primary Responsibilities

The Macroeconomic and Geopolitical Research Intern will play an essential role on the Team, assisting in the development and progress of projects important to the mission of the group.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively across the organization and to support departmental objectives
  • Conducting research on macroeconomic and political trends
  • Developing analysis and insights to share across the team and with a broader audience
  • Facilitate project management reports to track work flow
  • Helping understand and react to the changing global investment landscape

Qualifications

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or other Business-related field
  • GPA of a 3.3 or higher and demonstrated leadership
  • Strong interest in Investments and the asset management industry
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Advanced MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Creative thinker, ability to translate complex ideas for a diverse audience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and complete tasks that have high visibility
  • Complete work in a timely manner, often with the constraints of deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative in problem solving and successful project management
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for tasks
  • A passion for learning, professional growth and knowledge sharing
  • A desire to be part of an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and fun team environment
