Job Summary

Barings is seeking an energetic team player and driven self-starter to join the Corporate Communications team as a Media Relations Intern. This individual will assist in all daily operations and be responsible for supporting Barings media relations and social media functions. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with excellent writing skills and an eye for detail.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Draft press releases, pitches, media briefing documents and other written materials
  • Research and track media coverage on a daily basis
  • Develop social media content, and contribute to larger social media projects and reporting documents
  • Assist in the planning and development of media and social media campaigns to support firm-wide initiatives


  • Current Junior in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field
  • Minimum GPA Requirement of 3.3
  • Interest in the financial services industry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; effective presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent accuracy to ensure great results
  • Comfortable working with and taking direction from various members of the team
  • Commitment to excellence and collaborative approach to getting work done, balanced with a sense of humor
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • Experience in public relations and/or social media is a plus
  • Knowledge of industry technology and communication tools including Adobe Photoshop and Poppulo is a plus
