Job Description

EIS is part of Wells Fargo's Corporate Risk organization and is led by the Chief Information Security Officer.

Note: The preferred work locations are Charlotte, NC, Chandler, AZ or Minneapolis, MN, but we will consider other core Wells Fargo locations as well as telecommuting.

This Information Security Engineer 4 (ISE4) role is on the Cyber Security Innovation team within the Cyber Threat Management group performing Unix/Linux Administration. They will share responsibility in supporting several cyber threat tools. This position will work closely with the CTM leadership team and technical partners to develop solutions and Cyber Threat tools and innovations for the enterprise. This role will develop and document tools and services that support cyber threat management initiatives. This position will also be enlisted at times to assist incident responders to determine the risk and impact of a security threat, and possible mitigation strategies. This position will help provide crucial metrics associated with our ability to discover and react to security threats.
Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of information security applications and systems experience
  • 3 + years of Unix or Linux administration experience
  • 3 + years of Windows or Linux scripting experience
  • 3 + years of development experience with one or more of the following: Java, Perl, Python, or C+
  • 1+ year of Cisco experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of vulnerability identification and remediation
  • System vulnerability detection and mitigation experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking or financial services industry
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge and understanding of information security industry standards and government regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
  • Ability to handle confidential material in a professional manner
  • Ability to identify key issues, involve affected parties, design solutions, obtain buy-in, and communicate effectively through resolution

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated Redhat Administration experience.
  • 1 year architecture and/or engineering experience with distributed storage and processing technologies.
  • 1 year architecture and/or engineering experience with distributed full-text search technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop code that will ingest and correlate data at high rates
  • Video game coding background
  • Demonstrated ability to work with open source tools and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, engineer, and deploy common large-networked, high-speed file systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across information security domains.
  • Demonstrated cyber threat detection and intelligence experience
  • Demonstrated technical engineering background across multiple core technologies (OS, Application, Database, Virtual/Cloud, etc).
  • Big Data architecture and engineering experience.
  • Browser plugin development experience.
