To build and provide a first class Client Service function for real estate and real assets globally. The Client Service team is responsible for maintaining day-to-day contact with existing investors, responding to events, writing and issuing client communications, co-ordinating investment reporting and any fund related activities, and supporting secondary trades with third parties for EMEA based funds and mandates. The Senior Client Services Manager, EMEA will manage and develop a team working in London and Frankfurt. Key responsibilities will include:
To ensure that our clients receive excellent service.
Day to day management and leadership of the EMEA Client Service team to build and develop a high performing team
Assisting in the development and execution of the overall servicing strategy.
Leading the roll-out and effective operation of the client servicing methodology.
Liaising with corporate and other internal teams to ensure all client servicing activity is in line with the Group i.e., strategy and guidelines.
Working with clients on issues and projects, managing Nuveens responsibilities, to ensure client expectations are met.
Overseeing the co-ordination of Investment Management Agreements to ensure requirements are deliverable, completed accurately and on time, and communicated to all stakeholders in Nuveen.
Providing regular feedback on client vulnerability/profitability.
Working on the development and write-up of procedures.
Managing relationships with legal, marketing, sales and compliance
Development of investment mandates to ensure that funds are managed in accordance with client specifications.
Ensure AML / KYC and compliance obligations are met
Management and leadership of the client service team to build and develop a high performing team; their responsibilities to include: Management of existing client relationships
Respond to client queries and requests promptly and effectively, involving custodians and internal departments e.g., Legal/Compliance as necessary
Proactively anticipate clients requirements by maintaining regular contact and communicate any concerns to the client team.
Be familiar with and understand the clients investment mandate. Establish new client relationships
Contribute to the completion of consultant questionnaires and RFPs, ensuring questionnaires are understood and responded to in a timely and appropriate manner, in order to maximise Nuveen Real Estates chances of winning new business.
General client relationship management keeping clients up to date with news and any new initiatives or capital raising for existing funds
Managing relationships with internal stakeholders - legal, marketing, distribution and compliance
Ensuring AML / KYC and compliance obligations are met and kept up to date in line with corporate policy and in accordance with local regulation
Liaising with third parties to ensure technical support is received on all issues concerning administration, investment accounting and custody.
Regularly review service standards with those areas of the business which have an impact on client service perceptions
Providing support to investors as required during the secondary market trading process as appropriate
Participation in any team related projects as required Technical Skills & Qualifications Required
Strong project management skills able to juggle several projects at same time.
10 years plus experience in Client Servicing activities essential.
Basic understanding of legal and tax structures for funds preferable.
Knowledge of Client reporting methodologies preferable.
Ability to work & make decisions under pressure, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communications and leadership skills capable of influencing internal and external stakeholders.
Highly motivated and results driven.
Detail-focused and organised with strong communication/written/presentation skills.
Self-motivated person with a professional approach who can manage effectively in a diverse team environment.
Have strong networking skills.
Have experience of leading and coaching high performing teams.
Real estate / real assets experience useful but not essential.
Flexibility (travel may be involved).
Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Competencies Required
Fast learner. Able to investigate and solve complex issues for clients.
Self-starter, highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to deal with clients and their intermediaries at all levels from actuaries to junior administrators; also portfolio managers, client directors, managers and reporters and Custodian staff, in their language.
Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to form good working relationships with new and existing clients.
Ability to develop strong relationships.
