The AlternativeInvestment Partners Private Markets (AIP) team resides within MSIM and hasinvested nearly $20bn in opportunities in a variety of private markets investmentstrategies including primary fund investing, co-investing, and secondary marketinvesting. This team is staffed with over 50 professionals and has offices in suburbanPhiladelphia, New York, London and Hong Kong.
AIP is seeking experienced candidates from investment banks, consulting firms,private equity firms, or related fields for an Analyst position based insuburban Philadelphia on its primaries/co-investment team, which managesprivate equity fund investing as well as co-investing in direct deals.
Investmentprofessionals at the Analyst level work closely with senior investmentprofessionals in 3 - 4 person deal teams and are responsible for investmentanalysis, research and investment process management. The private equityprogram spans asset classes from venture capital to leveraged buyouts andspecial situations.
Creatingand executing financial analyses in support of the investment process (e.g.financial statement analysis, LBO models, returns and sensitivity analysis,comparable company valuation analysis, etc.)
Conductingfundamental research on a wide range of geographies, industries, companies, andmacroeconomic trends
Participatingin investment diligence including calls / meetings with industry experts,equity research analysts, management teams and private equity sponsors
Supportinginvestment sourcing, client service requests, and portfolio monitoring andother organizational processes
Graduateof a 4-year bachelors degree program with superior academic performance
1-2years of experience in private equity, investment banking, equity research,and/or management consulting
Strongquantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Strongverbal and written communication skills
Anunderstanding of financial concepts, valuation, and accounting
Ahigh level of attention-to-detail
Anability to meet challenging deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy
Ahigh level of interest in global macroeconomic investment trends
