Senior Manager - Financial Reporting
Responsible for preparation and review of statutory financial reports and other regulatory filings for the
life insurance subsidiaries of Ameriprise Financial. Ensures financial statements, disclosures , supplementary exhibits and other regulatory reports are prepared and filed in compliance with insurance statutory accounting requirements. Responsibilities
Preparation and review of life insurance company statutory annual and quarterly financial statements, and other reports, for filing with the state insurance regulators and the NAIC. Includes detailed review of work-paper documentation prepared by financial reporting staff and providing thought leadership on the preparation of those documents.
Monitor, evaluate and work with internal business partners to implement statutory accounting or reporting changes, including developing appropriate control processes and ensuring quality and timely information is provided. Communicate changes to disclosures to management, including preparation of impact analysis.
Maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with SOX
404/Model audit rule, and company standards.
Assist with responding to ad hoc requests such as financial statement analysis, regulator and auditor requests. Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting
7+ years of regulatory reporting experience
Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word and Excel) and general ledger systems
Strong technical accounting skills
Proven ability to lead through change and handle detailed work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve
