Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting operational, accounting, and system processes related to Advisor Compensation; Brokered Product revenue and EAR Loan & Bonus programs. This includes working with business partners to understand program and system changes, and implementing changes to our accounting, system, and business processes. Performing various accounting operations functions, analysis for various accruals, complex problem solving and adhoc requests. Also providing coaching and support to accountants.

Responsibilities

• Perform various accounting operations tasks to support Advisor Compensation and Brokered Products including complex accruals, approve accounting entries, supporting internal/ external audits, and account reconciliations. Perform analysis on accruals, recognizing trends and suggesting changes as needed.
• Develop subject matter expertise around Advisor Compensation and Brokered Products to support accounting, reporting, systems, and processes. Develop an understanding of end-to-end processes, translate accounting impact to non-accounting business partners, and perform analytics to identify issues and research business partner questions. Document processes as needed.
• Give work direction and support to accountants who support Brokered Products, EAR loan, and EAR bonus processes. This includes coaching on problem resolution, training, supporting process changes, and analyst support for complex issues.
• Support cross functional projects for new products, programs, and process changes by working with various groups including Finance, Controllership, Technology, Field Compensation, Service Delivery, WMS Products Group, Brokerage Clearing, and PMOs. Understand changes to build & implement system, accounting, and business processes to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP, and internal and external policies. This includes testing for system changes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related role.
• Strong accounting conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to influence, build, and maintain strong working relationships with business partners.
• Ability to use Excel to analyze data from a variety of sources to solve complex business issues.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Apply "root cause analysis" to obtain the origination of critical operational and financial problems and protectively apply action steps to resolve issues.
• Demonstrated understanding of systems, controls, accounting knowledge, financial, and processes within multiple legal entities.
• Strong technical ability using the general ledger, spreadsheets, Access databases and word processing applications.
• Ability to work independently and self-direct to meet priorities.
