Director - Financial Advice Strategy and High Net Worth
This role will engage in developing strategies and leading programs to support our financial planning and advice strategy and High Net Worth (HNW) client segment at Ameriprise Financial. This includes defining and developing new strategies and leading work to deliver new or enhanced capabilities; collaborating with colleagues across the enterprise to ensure our approach to financial planning and advice and the HNW segment is competitive in the marketplace and satisfies client and advisor needs; and leading or supporting efforts to engage key leaders and stakeholders, facilitate decision making and issue resolution, and ensure all are up-to-date on program progress.

Responsibilities

•Lead or influence strategy development for financial planning and advice and HNW client segment
•Define overall objectives and key deliverables for new initiatives
•Develop comprehensive plans to deliver new initiatives
•Partner with implementation teams across the enterprise to deliver initiatives
•Identify and track key performance indicators for new initiatives and ongoing business activities
•Ensure the prospect, client, and advisor experiences for the HNW segment meets evolving needs and is connected to the overall Ameriprise Client Experience
•In partnership with Strategic Insights team, maintain and regularly update syntheses of consumer and advisor needs and expectations for both financial planning and advice and the HNW segment, providing context and direction to Senior Program Manager as needed
•Maintain knowledge and understanding of the competitive marketplace for financial planning and advice and HNW clients in partnership with Senior Program Manager and Corporate Strategy, keeping on top of emerging trends and new capabilities
•Developing and monitoring key performance indicators for the HNW segment in tandem with the overall HNW Growth Model
•Serving as a liaison for financial planning and advice and HNW to other enterprise programs and initiatives, ensuring appropriate integration and connections
•Developing and/or leveraging subject matter expertise in high priority topic areas related to financial planning and advice and HNW clients

Required Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree or equivalent
•7-10 years of professional experience in financial services and/or related fields
•Strong project management/program management skills; 8-10 years
•Ability to demonstrate self-sufficiency with accessing, processing and interpreting information in support of making recommendations to senior leaders
•Ability to lead, influence, communicate and interact with people at all levels across the organization and with external partners
•Must possess strong negotiation, analytical, decision making and problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

•Demonstrated knowledge of the HNW consumer segment and/or financial planning and investment advice/management disciplines
•Understanding of technology development processes, compliance and regulatory factors influencing this work, the field sales organization, and the overall competitive landscape
•Experience in or consulting to businesses targeting HNW consumers
•Experience leading discovery and concept development processes for new strategies and initiatives (journey mapping, collaborative design, etc.)
•Experience as a business owner or in a business leadership role for technology initiatives of varying sizes
•Certified Financial Planner certificate (CFP®) or completion of equivalent coursework if not certified
