Business Processing Coordinator & Trader
Job Description

Full time, salaried position with bonus potential. This role is an integral part of our team, responsible for working in a dual role for the firm including business processing, as well acting as trader at BlueStem Wealth Partners (BWP), A private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC.

Responsibilities

Business Processing:
  • Work within a centralized services team to prepare account opening documents, for clients
  • Ensure correct paperwork and other necessary forms are provided to advisor and paraplanners
  • Managing workflow in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work closely with paraplanners and planning assistants to resolve any issues with paperwork processing
  • Consistent communication with the team to provide status updates of outstanding tasks
  • Work with our internal team to optimize, automate, improve processes and procedures

Trader:
  • Work with our financial advisors and registered support staff to place trades on behalf of our clients
  • Basic knowledge of securities back office operations & trading securities
  • Input securities orders into Ameriprise trading system


Required Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Work within the guiding principles and core values at BlueStem Wealth Partners, including transparency, integrity, commitment, competence, love & loyalty
  • Effective and consistent communication with clients, advisors, BWP staff and leadership team
  • Demonstrated strong level of interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow
  • Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as stated and required
  • Results oriented individual who thrives on achieving set goals
  • Effective and efficient time management, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment both within a team and individually
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and familiarity with Ameriprise online platforms including Secure Site, Total View, MoneyGuidePro & Vestmark, is a plus
  • Compensation commensurate with experience


Education and Other Designations:
  • Preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment: SIE exam, FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses in addition to Minnesota State Health, Life and Variable Annuity licenses
  • 3+ years of financial services industry experience, preferably in operations or back office role
  • Experience in trading is a plus
  • Associates degree or higher
