Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Institutional Securities Group (ISG) Product Operations encompasses two functionally aligned organizations. The first, Trading & Client Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support of activity executed by Institutional Sales &Trading. The second, Clearing Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support for activity cleared by Morgan Stanley on behalf of our clients in Prime Brokerage, Listed Derivatives, and OTC Derivatives. The broad organization partners closely with Sales and Trading to develop and implement new products and services as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. At all times we are focused on delivering quality service to clients both internal and external. ISG Product Operations partners closely with Shared Services and Banking Operations as well as Branch Operations and Operations Risk & Control to deliver a connected 'front to back' view of operations to ISG Sales and Trading.

The Structured Notes Life Cycle Management Trade Support Team (TSG) in Baltimore provides operational coverage to the trading of Morgan Stanley Parent Structured and Plain Vanilla Issuances. An Analyst in the Structured Notes Life Cycle Management TSG is integral to identifying and managing firm risk through oversight of Structured Notes lifecycle management.

Throughout the life of a Structured Note, a TSG professional will face-off directly with trading, issuing and paying agent, Finance, Technology and other infrastructure areas - partnership with these stakeholders is a key to effectively managing the trades we support. Team members will be required to be enthusiastic, dynamic, flexible, client service orientated and focused on control, accuracy and maximizing efficiency. This role is critical due to the variety of obligation we as issuer must fill throughout the life of the trade. Failure to do so can result in franchise impact and fines from local exchanges if obligations are not performed correctly. The firm is also focusing on numerous new avenues of revenue generation in Structured Notes which will require a competent TSG support.

The Analyst role is an integral part of managing risk for the Structured Notes Life Cycle Management TSG on a daily basis. This position includes:
- Understanding risk implications in the Structured Notes Life Cycle
- Ensuring all functions and procedures are performed in a timely and correct manner
- Working directly with the Issuing and Paying Agent (IPA) to review claims and ensure timely payment processing
- Where necessary, initiating and reviewing external payment details to the IPA
- Working with trading desk and other operations group to ensure proper trade processing
- Working with the trading desk, Chief Operations Officer (COO) team and other infrastructure groups to support business initiatives
- Managing stakeholder relationships across the business unit
- Assisting on any issues, and providing timely escalation to desk and operations senior management
- Identification and implementation of continuous improvements to systems and processes to improve efficiency and controls

Skills desired
- 2+ years of experience in Institutional Securities Operations, ideally including Interest Rates and Credit Derivatives
- Heavy experience with metrics and data analysis
