Operations Risk and Reg. Control - Possession & Control Team
This role will be part of the North America Operations Risk Regulatory Control (ORRC) team that primarily is responsible for performing daily and monthly tasks associated with the review, validation, and oversight of operational data impacting the 15c3-3 Customer Protection Possession or Control, and other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

The role which will regularly interact with Senior Management of Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and senior managers across Operations, Technology, Finance, Legal and Compliance will assist in the preparation and management of the various Morgan Stanley governance meetings that cover the various Financial Responsibility Rules applicable to U.S. broker-dealers (15c3-3, 15c3-1, 17a-5, 17a-13) etc.

In addition, the role will assist the team that oversees the Possession or Control requirements of MSCO. Some of the responsibilities included but not limited to the role:
- Conduct weekly meetings with Global Reconciliations Utility (GRU) team to perform a front to back review regarding age deficit management to determine cause and resolution
- Providing oversight/supervision over the segregation deficit management process
- Review and validate various reports to ensure compliance of 15c3-3 possession or control
- Weekly Review of 15c3-3 deficits to ensure the appropriate action is being take to remediate
- Perform weekly review and sign off of various functions for the team
- Research and analyze all ad-hoc requests that were assigned related to customer asset protection
- Daily Winjammer Reconciliation- accuracy of the segregated and sequestered filing
- Daily Customer Protection system analysis (Lexor vs. Aqua) for consistency across both
- Cross-entity pay-down project pay down balances on settlement date (SD) rather than SD+1
- Daily Regulatory Account Usage (RAU) analysis which will drive appropriate regulatory treatment of accounts
- Quarterly Good Control Location (GCL) account review to ensure that all GCL have the appropriate documentation
- Monthly FINRA XML- A validation process to ensure that annual filing with FINRA is complete and accurate
- Form Custody Report - filed monthly with FOCUS report
