Global Loan Servicing - Associate - Firmwide Operations

Background on the Position
The Loan Utilities team holds a significant role within Morgan Stanley?s Global Loan Servicing department. The Loan Utilities team is responsible for client onboarding, Wire Instruction processing, including call back verification and authentication, and data management in LIQ. Loan Utilities supports all teams across GLS which includes corporate, residential and commercial loans businesses. Team members will work with internal and external clients in an effort to onboard new clients and keep data current and up to date with current TAX and KYC regulations.

Responsibilities:
? Must be a team player who is willing to work hand in hand with teams across the floor to complete BAU
? Must work simultaneously with our off-shore vendor team to assist in any complex transactions
? Maintain desktop procedures governing the team?s processes.
? Maintain the team?s risk control framework, including the recurring documentation of key risks and controls and execution of risk control self-assessments.
? Reconcile system discrepancies and investigate issues that may arise.
? Self-starter, who is able to resolve issues with little context or detail and works independently to deliver on projects within defined and undefined deadlines.
? Interpret Deal structure and relevant terms and conditions of credit agreements and review other pertinent loan documentation in order to prepare new or amended bank loan transactions for settlement
? Work with the Business Unit (BU), Financial Controllers (FCG), Global Capital Markets (GCM), Leveraged Acquisition Finance (LAF), Lending Joint Venture (LJV), and other internal teams on issues with P&L; etc.
? Responsible for analyzing data, recognizing trends, formalizing conclusions, and presenting synthesized data to management.

? 1+ years of financial services operations experience required
? Must be proficient in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
? Must be proficient in documenting procedures and process flows
? Must be willing to work overtime during seasonal volume spikes
? Ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines
? Must be self-motivated and detail oriented
? Excellent organization skills are required
? Familiarity with syndicated loan products and credit documentation a plus
? Loan IQ experience a plus
? Demonstrated track record of achievement with the ability to take initiative in a challenging environment
? Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate information to a range of audiences
? Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for tasks
? Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources
? Ability to proactively contribute towards continued improvements in control, operational efficiency, and industry initiatives
