The VP, Sales has full operational responsibility for CE’s Provider field sales activities. The VP, Sales develops and implements the strategic outlook for future years in order to meet the company’s expansion goals for US and Canada. This includes developing annual strategic plans for new and renewal sales, while identifying the costs and the requirements for the organization.

This position is a critical leader for the CE Sales Team. Ideal candidates have experience in a large organization, managing a geographically dispersed team with both direct & indirect reports in a SaaS or subscription based model, and a proven track record of success. This is an exciting opportunity to help further the success of a business that has seen consistent growth drive the recently completed sales transformation and motivate and engage employees and customers with the CE mission. 

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Strategy Development and Execution
  • Develop and refine the overall sales strategy and objectives for the US and Canada Provider Segment
  • Evaluate sales pipeline and oversee the development of forecasts
  • Determine field force effort allocation and plans of action
  • Manage Sales Directors to execute overarching territory sales strategy and objectives
  • Direct and Coach Sales Directors
    • Measure, motivate and reward team members
    • Provide strategic coaching on general sales strategy, call planning, time utilization, and the sales process
    • Provide strategic coaching on product offerings and value propositions
    • Provide tactical coaching on value based selling and customer interaction skills
    • Facilitate organizational support and conflict resolution
  • Hire and Develop Team
    • Own talent development, organizational design and hiring plans
    • Partner with Sales Directors to select and hire team resources
    • Develop and groom for future succession
  • Customer Development
  • Advise the Sales Team in interactions with key decision makers in Account Manager-led accounts, as needed
  • Build industry and association relationships
  • Field and Market Intelligence 
  • Provide feedback and field intelligence to the organization to help drive product development strategy

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field. MBA, preferred.


  • 10 or more years of strategic sales experience managing multiple markets
  • Demonstrated experience for talent identification, team management coaching and conflict resolution
  • Ability to help teams navigate complex sales processes within a matrixed organization
  • Familiar with utilizing data driven operating mechanisms around sales force effectiveness to create funnel
  • Ability to communicate value of sophisticated and complex products/technologies
  • Strong team building abilities and skills; commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Experience managing by example.
  • Ability to engage and motivate a team of employees based remotely
  • Proven experience leading a team to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Strong knowledge of sales forecasting, planning and budgeting
  • Healthcare experience is strongly preferred

  • Personal and consultative approach
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills; excellent organizational skills including follow up and follow through with staff, management, internal and external customers.
  • Expertise in Microsoft product suite and preferred
