Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) Manager

Walpole, MA

As the HS&E Manager for Rolls-Royce, youll act as the principal point of contact within the Defence Marine Walpole site and various field service locations related to HS&E performance, policy and compliance matters to provide advice, assurance and reporting in support of the business strategy and goals in a way that is consistent with the Rolls-Royce Corporate HS&E objectives and approach.

Key Accountabilities

  • Developing local H&S policies, objectives and targets that are consistent with the organizations HS&E strategy, with emphasis on driving HSE performance improvement
  • Ensuring compliance with all HS&E legislation, regulatory permitting and appropriate company standards
  • Implementing checks and corrective action measures to regularly review the effectiveness of all aspects of the sites' HS&E management system
  • Leading risk assessment on the organizations operational site and field service locations covering: contractor control, chemical management, material handling, PPE, and emergency response
  • Driving sustainability efforts through environmental improvement programs, aimed at reducing our overall impact on the environment
  • Directing and coordinating Walpole plant environmental activities to assure compliance with regulatory/corporate requirements and to drive continuous improvement efforts
  • Initiating activities directly related to Occupational Health such as Industrial Hygiene, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, and ergonomics.
  • Monitoring the implementation of the HS&E policy and objectives to ensure plans are in place to maintain international standards (ISO 14001, and ISO 45001)

Basic:

  • A Bachelors degree with 8+ years experience in HS&E management to include compliance related to management systems, interpretion of legislation, training and auditing OR;
  • A Masters degree with 6+ years experience in HS&E management to include compliance related to management systems, interpretion of legislation, training and auditing OR;
  • A JD/PhD with 0+ years experience in HS&E management to include compliance related to management systems, interpretion of legislation, training and auditing OR;
  • In lieu of Degree 16+ years experience in HS&E management to include compliance related to management systems, interpretion of legislation, training and auditing
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires US Citizenship

Preferred:

  • A recognized HS&E management qualification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
  • Experience in the manufacturing business environment, specific risks and industry approaches
