Lean Strategic Consultant, VP
  • Work effectively across all three pillars of the LMO strategy; executing successful engagements, building strategic partnerships with the businesses and developing, enhancing and maintaining an infrastructure that supports the growth and use of Lean at State Street.
  • Lead and execute Lean consulting engagements and initiatives that optimize operating models, processes and control frameworks; leveraging the 4 consulting models (e.g. full service, mentored, shared and sponsorship)
  • Support the building and maintaining of strategic partnerships with senior business leaders that drive the development of Lean infrastructure to build a continuous improvement culture and provide a diverse pipeline of engagements
  • Lead work streams to develop and enhance key infrastructure initiatives that support the application of Lean across State Street and build a level of self-sufficiency in the businesses
  • Effectively communicate complex, conceptual information verbally and in writing, exercising tact, appropriately adjusting communications when interacting with varying levels in the organization, and projecting a leadership presence when interacting with all levels of management and clients
  • Actively promote Lean across State Street through various channels
  • Train, coach and mentor business area staff in Lean principles and tools and their application to drive significant business impact and culture change through targeted initiatives and to develop more highly capable Lean employees
  • Manage multiple priorities through to completion under tight deadlines, anticipate and manage through critical issues, effectively collaborating in the midst of ambiguity and tension, and realign priorities and deliverables to ensure milestones and targets are achieved
  • Provide insights resulting from analysis that informs the target state design, ask probing questions that challenge the status quo and pursue what is right even in the face of opposition.
  • Able to support the development of complex data models (e.g. workload balancing, baselining)
  • Experience with the organizing and manipulating large volumes of data, building and using pivot tables/v- and h-lookups, and blending rigorous quantitative analysis with qualitative insights from business lines
  • Proven experience developing and producing metrics-driven management reporting, with demonstrated ability to appropriately work with and safeguard confidential / private information
  • Anticipate, monitor, actively manage and report all risk and compliance issues, breaches and suspicious activities
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Manage own performance through goals, individual development plan and applicable training that enhances skill set and capability
  • Act in accordance with Risk Excellence as part of our Way Ahead foundation
  • Ability to travel globally as needed (may span 2-3 consecutive weeks)
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Clearly communicates both verbally and in written format
  • Ability to present to all levels of executive management
  • Strong team player - able to collaborate well with the LMO and our partners
  • Strong oversight, consensus building and project management skills
  • Ability to handle multi-faceted initiatives and projects globally across the organization
  • Expertise in M/S Office suite (including working knowledge of Visio and Access) Collaborate Administration skills a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree required (Business or Finance preferred)
  • 8-10 plus years of experience in financial services is required with ideally at least 4-5 years of experience related to operations and/or technology process transformation
  • Demonstrated experience in working on process improvement initiatives
  • Proven experience developing and producing metrics-driven management reporting
  • External client-facing experience is a plus
