Tech Application Support Analyst/Dev Ops (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Quincy, Massachusetts): Expected to be completely hands-on and will work with cross-functional support teams. The job functions will require a candidate to be competent in all aspects of the application resiliency, maintenance and support functions. The position requires a background in application development, maintenance/support, a solid understanding of leading it technologies. Specific duties include: using RDBMS systems like Oracle, SQL server in a data warehousing environment; performing incident management and troubleshooting, problem management and change management; facilitating deep-dives troubleshooting session with infrastructure and development teams; managing system uptime and incident resolutions; performing maintenance and support operations of critical web applications in office of regulatory initiatives (ORI) and Beacon NAV pricing programs which are based on JAVA/J2EE and other open systems technologies; supporting and triaging, setting up and configuring environment, environment stability management and job scheduling & monitoring; supporting daily operations of regulatory applications like enterprise services platform (ESP), know your customer (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML), transaction monitoring, intraday liquidity/ Basel committee on banking supervision (BCBS248), federal depository insurance corporation (FDIC), Basel III, Volcker; supporting daily operations of NAV pricing critical applications in production like cash sweep, financial data repository, exchange traded products, NAV dissemination system, enterprise pricing web, wall street office; leading application resiliency initiatives like production release management, proactive monitoring implementation, manual operations task automation, knowledge management, recovery harness (HA/DR automation and failover testing) in ORI, and pricing feed transmission mapping & proactive alerting; technically leading infrastructure migration of enterprise services platform (ESP), one of the key data warehousing application in ORI program that involves migration of infrastructure components like load balancer, code server, SFTP, message queue (MQ), NDM, Autosys job and cloakware; coordinating with capacity planning management (CPM) and dev teams on quarter capacity projections across it; and providing technical and process related training to production support team across shores.
Minimum requirements are: Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field plus 5 years of relevant post-baccalaureate experience. Experience above must include the following (can be gained concurrently): 5 years of relevant IT experience in professional software development, implementation, maintenance and support and must have completed Microsoft certified technology specialist (MCTS) course.
Must have: (demonstrated ability and no specific number of years required): proven solid Financial Services IT experience; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner both written and orally; proven experience working with financial services regulatory initiatives; proven experience working with agile development methodology; proven prior experience in incident management and troubleshooting and ability to facilitate deep-dive troubleshooting sessions with infrastructure and development teams; proven prior success coordinating interaction and collaboration with globally distributed teams; proven experience in supporting core regulatory critical applications in production; good functional knowledge of office of regulatory initiatives (ORI) portfolios in financial service industry; proven in-depth knowledge of ITSM process, RDBMS concepts, WebSphere application server (WAS) concepts, query performance tuning and optimization, IBM WebSphere and message queue; proven hands on experience in AWR (automatic workload repository) report analysis and Unix shell scripting; demonstrated ability to use and to troubleshoot and fix issues related to Oracle, Exadata and MySQL database, Unix, Linux, WebSphere server, Windows server, MQ, SiteMinder, IAAS / PAAS cloud services, and SharePoint; and proven experience using tools/utilities including: JAVA, J2EE, data warehousing, IBM MQ, SFTP, ASP.NET, JDBC, Tomcat, Autosys, Autosys job scheduler, IBM infosphere DataStage, Toad for Oracle 12.6, Oracle SQL developer, BMC control-m, WINSCP, putty, SharePoint designer, cloud controller, IBM WAS admin console, IBM rational application developer , F5 big-IP, Microsoft visual studio.net 2010, Microsoft SQL server 2012, QPasa (MQ monitoring tool), JExplorer, Microsoft team foundation server (TFS), IBM ISM (IT service management tool), ServiceNow.
