The Network Engineering Associate Director provides technical and managerial leadership in the design, planning, operation, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of Santander US Network and voice infrastructure. This position must ensure continuity and alignment of Santander US network and voice administration/engineering direction and plans with Santander North America strategy.Responsibilities
The candidate will participate in architecting Santander network and voice infrastructure and in the development of guidelines, procedures, and standards. The candidate in this role will lead and drive the overall strategy of multiple functional areas around Network and Voice Engineering.
Provides 24x7 on-call support in troubleshooting of High Priority incidents to ensure quick recovery of critical services.
Provides innovative ideas and approaches that improve availability of Santander US network and IT systems.
This position participates in architecting Santander network and voice infrastructure and in the development of guidelines, procedures, and standards.
The candidate must stay abreast of latest technology developments to ensure service levels proactively meet or exceed Santander US requirements and service level agreements with key stakeholders and vendors. The candidate in this role needs will lead and drive the overall strategy of multiple functional areas around Network and Voice Engineering
Work with third party vendors to evaluate existing contracts, adopt new technologies, and drive contract efficiency.
Work with other Infrastructure teams to communicate new initiatives and collect feedback on user experience
Use data to generate KPI/KRIs to measure the success of the operation and drive decision makingQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent work experience in related IT field is required
15+ years of Network and Voice Engineering experience.
Ability to provide hands-on technical and operational guidance to senior engineers.
Advanced knowledge and background in network and systems administration
In-depth understanding of Cisco network and voice technology stack.
In-depth knowledge of Cisco Routing and switching and Cisco UC technologies
In-depth understanding of IP routing (BGP, OSPF) switching.
In-depth understanding of Cisco WiFi architecture
In-depth understanding of F5 Load Balancing technology
In-depth understanding with DNS/DHCP architectures
Strong understanding of WAN optimization and storage replication
Strong understanding of Network Security: stateful firewall (Checkpoint hands on experience preferred), IPS/IDS, network encryption.
Familiar with Akamai security suite and CDN solutions
Strong understanding of Disaster Recovery techniques
Strong understanding of VMware/vCenter and storage networks.
Linux/Microsoft Systems Administration.
Strong communication and influencing skills where you can explain ideas from different perspectives to technical and non-technical audiences
Capable of managing competing priorities and making the right trade off based on business impacts.
Experience in large, complex organizations.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships at every level and manage those relationships.
This position requires advanced reasoning competencies.
