POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for all activities related to the daily/monthly accounting, reporting, remitting and reconciling of the Bank's secondary marketing mortgage loan portfolio, which include Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA), Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) and other private investors. The position will be accountable for ensuring all reporting and remitting are done accurately and in a timely manner, in accordance with SOPs and investor guidelines. In addition, ensure proper reconciling of the investor Principle and Interest (P&I) and Taxes and Insurance (T&I) custodial accounts, resolving unreconciled items within guidelines.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform investor reporting and remitting accurately and on time in accordance with investor guidelines to avoid penalties and compensatory fees as assessed by the investor; use investor specific applications as required
  • Resolve reporting or remittance differences by performing detailed loan level analysis and clear exceptions based on each investor’s requirements
  • Analyze investor loan activity on a regular and on-going basis, to ensure loan system accuracy
  • Perform monthly custodial deposit and general ledger account reconciliations for FNMA, FHLB, BOA,BSI, and any other future investors; perform monthly Test of Expected Cash reconciliations per investor guidelines; research and resolve all reconciling items
  • Interact with investors directly to resolve issues and obtain approval on a variety of servicing inquiries such as modifications, short sales and repurchases
  • Maintain accurate reconciling of bank notes held by third party document custodians; request notes for paid off loans and review monthly invoices
  • Prepare the Small Business Administration standard remittance form for all qualified loans in the loan portfolio
  • Perform all duties associated with new and paid loan processing on investor loans and purchased loans serviced by other financial institutions such as loan level reporting and reconciliation of internal accounts
  • Periodically review and update SOPs for investor reporting to ensure accuracy and relevance

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience performing Fannie Mae investor accounting functions

 WORK REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • FNMA's Servicer's Reconciliation Facility (SURF)
  • Microsoft Office (Intermediate)
  • Must have knowledge of investor accounting principles and concepts, investor servicing guidelines, loan servicing systems, servicing technology and practices
  • Keep abreast of investor servicing guidelines; serve as subject matter expert
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple people, situations, and/or assignments and meet deadlines
