Primary Accountabilities

  • Oversee the daily responsibilities of the Managers and Supervisors for the following areas: Escrow Department, Tax Department, Insurance Department, Mortgage Insurance Functions.

    •  Escrow Administration includes managing compliance to federal law RESPA and state laws to ensure analysis is performed within guidelines and escrow accounts are administered appropriately at all times.

    • Tax Department includes managing the tracking of all escrow accounts for timely disbursements to minimize or prevent fines and penalties to SLS, monitor non-escrow accounts for delinquent taxes and ensuring appropriate NPV analysis is performed to determine when to make protective corporate advances to protect the underlying collateral.

    • Insurance Department includes managing the tracking of all escrow accounts for timely disbursements to ensure continuation of coverage for borrower preferred policies, monitor escrow and non-escrow accounts for cancellations or gaps in coverage related to hazard, wind, flood, etc. to ensure appropriate proof of coverage exists on every loan.

    • Mortgage Insurance Administration includes managing the payment of premiums on LPMI and BPMI policies and ensuring the cancellation processes are in compliance with the Homeowners Protection ACT (HPA) and that appropriate action is taken to monitor and calculate termination events and cancel MI coverage appropriately and to ensure refunds of any unearned premiums within HPA requirements and in general ensure complete compliance with HPA.

    • Additional responsibilities include management of external vendors such as Highland Insurance Services, CoreLogic, Assurant or their subsequent vendors should these change and any additional assignment from senior management.

  • Provide feedback and guidance to management team.  Prepare and/or validate various monthly reports, forecast work volumes and staffing needs, lead special projects including writing requirements, testing, and implementation.

  • Ensure proper procedures, controls, and audits are in place in order to monitor performance according to key performance indicators.

  • Continually review and update processes to mitigate risk and error, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Implement enhancements or changes to support process improvement across the department.



  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with external and internal partners.

  • Ability to manage processes & exceptions for functions internally managed and those handled by an outsource vendor. Independent thinker, able to work alone and as part of a team to streamline functions to create maximum efficiency through enhancements and automation.

  • Strong analytical, process, and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to present and interact with all levels of staff and management including the senior leadership of SLS.

Education and Experience


  • 6+ years of mortgage servicing experience required. Escrow Administration Management Preferred. 

  • 8+ years of management experience preferred.

  • Management of multiple functions and processes preferred.

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Applicable Insurance or Tax Industry experience a plus.

Travel Required
It is expected that this position may include travel up to 20% of the time. This is subject to change based on many factors, including business needs

Language Ability

Ability to read/analyze/interpret journals/financial reports/legal documents; respond to inquiries/complaints from customers/reg. agencies/ community; write speeches/articles for publication; present info to top mgmt./public groups/ boards of directors.

Mathematical Ability

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
