Trading Support Analyst

Wellington's Trading Systems Support unit is seeking a Systems Analyst to join the team which provides support to all of Wellington's Trading Desks: Fixed Income; Currency and Equity.  This individual will work closely with Traders, electronic trading and matching vendors, sell-side integration teams, trading operations and as well as other teams across the organization both regionally and globally ensuring efficient daily operations and controls.  Qualified applicants must possess a strong knowledge of technology, trading, and financial services.   Candidates must also possess excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, willing to work in an energetic, fun, fast pasted and team-oriented group.  The ability to manage multiple priorities is required. This position requires some partial early, late and weekend shift coverage.
Daily activities and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Direct support of Traders including troubleshooting issues impacting the desk or the ability to trade.  This must be accomplished by working with more senior members of the Trading Support team to develop acceptable solutions in an appropriate time frame prioritizing for risk (triage)
  • Develop expertise in Wellington's proprietary Global Trading Systems (GTS) platform with the goal of staying abreast of changes providing training to the traders and/or assisting them with their workflows
  • Understand the critical integration points of GTS particularly investor integration, derivative, security master and accounting systems
  • Leverage knowledge of system and source data to help triage issues
  • Script Monitoring tests to identify potential data integrity issues using SQL
  • Monitor all Alerts and resolve them by working with the Development team; if they are actionable or suppress them if they are non-actionable
  • Work closely with the Development and Business Analysis teams to identify and solve bugs and to provide system enhancements
  • Timely and accurate communication of issues and tracking of those issues to closure
  • Strict adherence to Incident Management processes and documentation

Qualifications :
  • BS degree in Computer Science or a similar analytical degree
  • Ability to successfully interact with Traders in a fast paced, high stress environment
  • 1 to 3 years' experience supporting or working with Financial Systems and / or Trading Applications
  • Very Strong SQL skills or similar coding experience
  • Experience with FIX, EMS, ECNs or other electronic trading platforms
  • An analytical mindset that enjoys problem solving
