We are known for our candor in sharing our views with clients and for our willingness to take bold, differentiated positions when opportunities warrant.  Position Overview The Technology Associate role is a unique opportunity to work with multiple technology groups to develop and support tools and applications for the benefit of the research, trading and portfolio management processes, and for GMOs client and operations teams.  GMOs technology teams work in an agile method and have close interaction with our business stakeholders. We aim to develop and identify exceptionally bright and motivated individuals to build our pipeline of talented technologists.  The Technology Associate is a two-year rotational program in which you will work across multiple technology teams at GMO. Each rotation will be approximately six months in duration. The duration and nature of each rotation will vary based on technology team needs, fit, and your skills and interests.  Upon joining in June 2021, you will participate in an expansive training program over the course of several weeks in order to gain insight into the firm and into the investment management technology landscape. Additional training will be provided on an ongoing basis throughout your tenure in the program. After two years of the rotational program, the goal is for you to be placed in a full-time position with one of our technology teams. Responsibilities Your responsibilities will vary, but examples of the work include: ·          Propose, design and implement technical solutions for our business partners, including: o    Solutions for investment teams used in research, portfolio construction and optimization, trade analytics, and portfolio implementation. o    Solutions for client teams that support GMOs clients and their overall experience with GMO. ·          Enhance existing technical components, applications and libraries. ·          Troubleshoot and remediate technical problems. ·          Participate in peer reviews (both code and design reviews). ·          Participate in producing technical documentation where needed. ·          Work closely with developers, product owners, and the Quant Research teams while gaining skills in Python, Java, R, C#, MATLAB, or other languages. ·          Manage the design and implementation of enterprise service platforms through process monitoring, automation, configuration, and learning DevOps best practices. ·          Safeguard, monitor, and support the production environment and processes by developing automated and manual tests, running regression suites, and analyzing results. Qualifications ·          Completion of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field by June 2021. ·          Previous experience with programming languages through previous internships, personal projects and/or classwork. ·          Desire to learn a broad range of technical skills. ·          Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. ·          Ability to learn new concepts, systems, and software in a quick manner. ·          Positive attitude, professional and mature. ·          Detail-oriented, can effectively manage multiple tasks, and able to prioritize work (although well help you with that).
