Home Loans at Santander originates billions of dollars in Mortgage and Home Equity Loans per year. The Strategy and Analytics Associate will be part of a team working to drive the profitable growth of this business and other related areas. The Strategy and Analytics Associate will help do this through keen analytical skills and a strategic mindset. They will seek to make recommendations based on analysis, data, and research in order to grow the Home Loans business. Additionally, they will be responsible for providing insights through presentations prepared for senior executives, development of financial models, and performing analysis.

Beyond this, the Strategy and Analytics Associate will also support key operational analytics and reporting. To do this, experience querying and analyzing data sets will be important. Through the knowledge and insight that the Associate develops, they will serve as a trusted advisor to consumer loan operations leadership.

Responsibilities -

Help drive the profitable growth of the Home Loans business

Develop recommendations on strategic initiatives and business cases to support them

Conduct analysis through primary and secondary research in order to identify business trends, competitor behavior, and areas to enhance efficiency

Demonstrated experience querying and analyzing data sets with tools like Tableau, SQL, Access, or others. Skill with Tableau is preferred

Create persuasive presentation materials to communicate key learnings and recommendations to senior level executives clearly and concisely

Design and carry out implementation plans in conjunction with key partners

Create financial models in support of key projects

Experience with Tableau/SQL/Access a plus

Qualifications EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree; in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent field, or equivalent work experience. WORK EXPERIENCE 5-9 years; Relevant business planning, project and financial experience. Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership. Experience in one or a combination of the following: administrative support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to consult, build, and maintain solid working relationships in and outside of immediate department. Ability to determine and report priorities/metrics to senior management. Ability to manage multiple small to medium sized projects simultaneously. Ability to research, analyze, document, and present organizational metrics that drive business decisions. Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members. Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of banking industry: products, services, operational policies, and procedures. Knowledge and understanding of risk management. Strong attention to detail. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking.
