Who we are looking for

We are looking for a lead business systems analyst to lead efforts in analyzing business requirements for market and credit risk focused on FX/FI derivative trading. The successful candidate is expected to be able to translate these business requirements into broken down functional components as well as guide the creation of a test strategy to validate if the requirements are met. The scope of the position covers the banks trading activities primarily in the FX/FI trading and secondarily on trading activities of exchange traded instruments.

What you will be responsible for
As Lead Business Systems Analyst you will be responsible for

  • Envisioning functional implementation of new risk and regulatory processes in the context of the functional and technical framework for optimal delivery and time to market.

  • Analyze and present trade-offs to manage the balance of tactical delivery for emerging regulatory and risk needs Vs strategic objectives.

  • Provide well thought through end to end design along with testing and validation strategy that complies with State Street business, technical, data, security and operational guidelines.

  • Work with various stakeholders on the business side such as operational risk managers, regulatory submission teams, data quality office and IT implementation teams to elicit requirements and formulate them Agile stories for implementation.

  • Provide functional and test strategy guidance to the IT implementation teams to build defensive, fault tolerant and scalable solutions to business problems.

Ability to visualize the problem and show the solution path through examples of data relatable to business partners and development team.

  • Strong whiteboarding skills to be able to present in front of business and IT team members. Ability to simplify and explain complex concepts to the team.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a technical area such as Math, Statistics, CS, Engineering or Physics with quantitative skills. Masters degree preferred.
  • 10+ years experience in the technical aspects of OTC derivatives in front office and risk.
  • The role will require understanding of various risk measurement methodologies and their technical implementation for OTC and security lending markets [e-g VaR, PFE, Expected Shortfall] and regulatory processes.
  • Experience and understanding of the OTC derivative products such as FX Forwards, Options, IR Swaps specifically, the usage of market data for pricing and simulation
  • Experience in designing systems with stringent data quality needs for regulatory processes such as CCAR, RCAP etc.
  • Proficiency in SQL and the ability to backtrace aggregated data measures back to underlying data through process transformations to troubleshoot issues.
