The Specialist, Mortgage Banker is a client-facing role, supporting the Senior Mortgage staff to increase effectiveness and productivity and bring new business by providing a broader regional coverage and act as the liaison for originating, closing and monitoring of mortgages. Responsible for sales support of the mortgage banking activity across a specified region. Manage the day to day regional pipeline and act as the key resource for both, clients and internal partners throughout the mortgage lifecycle. Responsible for mortgage origination on a limited basis.Collect all documentation and information required for loan processing, appraisals, insurance, and vesting. Serve as the primary contact for the client for the end-to end process (from application to closing). Act as contact for KYC team and administer all requests related to the mortgage and loan activity. Effectively communicate and provide support related to mortgage solutions to clients, advisors and internal colleagues. Provide sales and administrative support to internal partners on the regional mortgage pipeline, mortgage activity, and portfolio loans. Solves unusual problems that are low/moderate risk in nature within the context of established policies and procedures. Participate in regional / team meetings, clients events, and client meetings to develop relationships with internal colleagues, advisors, and clients to drive new referrals and boost mortgage production. Assist clients in the selection of products, negotiate rates with clients, and take applications on a limited basis. Serve as direct regional backup to the Senior Mortgage staff. Interact directly with clients and advisors to collect all outstanding documentation required to process the loan. Obtain contact and relevant information for appraisals (ie plans and specs), insurance and vesting. Research the Source of Wealth- interface with KYC team as primary contact for KYC questions. Administer the submission of Locks, extensions, concessions, loan modifications, and servicing requests as requested by RMB. The incumbent will provide sales and administrative support to Regional Mortgage Bankers (RMBs) and WM Colleagues relative to the regional mortgage pipeline and portfolio loans. This individual will act as the primary internal contact for the client after the application has been taken. This person will manage the RMB/Regional pipeline, acting as the primary liaison ensuring files are moving smoothly from the stage of initial disclosure through to closing. They will be required to communicate interim updates to clients, advisor and internal colleagues on individual files. Participate in Channel/regional/team meetings, events, and client meetings to develop relationships with internal colleagues, advisors, and clients to drive referrals and mortgage production. Serve as a regional backup to the RMB, in the case of RMB unavailability. An NMLS registration is required to enable them to take an application, assist clients in the selection of products, and negotiate rates, in the RMBs absenceWork closely with related teams and other firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure all risk management/compliance activities relevant to business development activities are conducted and captured.Contributes to the achievement of area objectives. Also has business development goals. MODIFIED BASED UPON LOCAL REGULATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advance/graduate degree preferred. 5-7 years of total work experience preferred; experience in mortgage, lending, or private banking is preferred. Lending and or underwriting/credit background preferred. The individual should have a sales acumen, strong organizational skills, and an aptitude to manage multiple transactions in a fast paced environment. The applicant should be a strong communicator with a willingness to participate in sales calls, client meetings and client events. This individual will be a regional resource on pipeline updates and servicing issues to be elevated. This role will require an NMLS registration, to be obtained by the bank upon hiring.
