This role is responsible for the management of the Commercial Operations function across multiple markets and business lines, manages the Commercial Operations Managers, Group Leaders and Commercial Relationship Administrators and reports to the Director of Commercial Operations.
This position serves as a highly experienced technical resource on all aspects of commercial loan documentation, internal systems, loan processing and may lead specific departmental projects focused on creating efficiencies and process improvements. This position may also provide support to acquisition integrations as needed.
The Sr. Manager Commercial Operations
Oversees processes and procedures to monitor employee productivity, loan and systems data reviews and compliance with internal/external policies, laws and regulations.
Reviews strategic and tactical system and procedural needs within the business lending and/or document custody function and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Leverages the use of various loan related databases to develop streamlined processes that improve the overall management, and efficiency.
Serves as an advisor to senior leadership regarding functional and operational issues.
Manages and resolves escalated issues referred by staff/team.
Leads special projects that involve improvement of loan documentation, processing, and portfolio management functions (e.g. ticklers, financial statements).
Utilizes expertise in internal policies and procedures, products and services and all applicable regulations to provide solutions to issues and mitigate risk.
Collaborates with Director, Commercial Compliance and other compliance officers from across the organization to ensure consistency and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Manages all aspects of multiple commercial operations teams to ensure alignment & execution of divisional goals.
Establishes business and competency goals for staff, conducting performance reviews, hiring decisions, corrective action and terminations.
Provides training, guidance and operational leadership to the commercial operations and lending teams. Coaching skills may be extended to peers, as well as, their direct reports.
Keeps informed of laws, regulations, developments and trends in the lending industry and maintains expertise in internal policies and procedures. Works with key business partners to determine improvements or new processes and makes recommendations to Director, Commercial Operations. Implements new or improved policies, processes and regulations within the team and manages any changes in the workflow.
Maintains compliance with all Agency requirements and accurate records.

Job Requirements :
College degree or equivalent work experience.
5-8 years of relevant Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending experience.
Multi-level management experience.
Excellent ability to lead and motivate a team to meet department objectives and supports employee development. Excellent ability to inform, educate and influence employees to support corporate goals and objectives.
Expertise in loan documentation requirements, elements of secured and unsecured transactions, loan closing process and commercial banking products (e.g. loan, deposit, treasury management, etc), internal policies and procedures and commercial banking regulations.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are required.
Strong people management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiating and problem solving skills.
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internal loan, loan documentation and deposit systems.
Expert level understanding of the banking systems, including functionality, screens, reports and overall capacities. Ability to learn additional systems and applications as needed.
Excellent organizational skills and a strong ability to prioritize complex tasks, projects, and other duties to best meet objectives and goals.
Exceptional project management, analytical and research skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception through completion. Ability to manage system upgrades from research through implementation.
Strong, objective, independent decision making is a critical skill. The ability to develop workable solutions in order to problem solve are essential to success.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment and lead change with their teams.
