Regional Segment Head Asset Manager North America, SVP
Job Description
  • Build and execute State Street engagement strategy for the Asset Manager sector in North America and work together with the Global Segment Lead to influence global value proposition
  • Own the wallet for the whole of State Street in the Asset Manager segment for the region
  • Identify and pursue new business with existing clients and onboard prospect clients across our product spectrum including GS, GM, CRD and Alpha as well as data services
  • Identify new business with existing clients and prospect clients for onboarding across the region by prioritizing resources from the dedicated segment sales team in region, segment coverage and the country head where the existing client or the prospect client is domiciled. Regional Segment and Country must work together to bring new business and new clients to the firm
  • Defend and grow our penetration in the client segment by addressing capability gaps and improving sales force effectiveness
  • Build and maintain highly strategic and collaborative relationships with this client segment. Utilize industry network to penetrate market and build our business further.
  • Target clients currently at competitors with preemptive bids and bold outsourcing proposals
  • Increase share of wallet with existing clients through data management and global markets offerings
  • Lock in new revenue, leveraging our first mover advantage on Front-to-Back, our next generation ETF servicing and our data capabilities
  • Work with regional and global product teams to influence and drive product improvement, innovation and new capabilities to ensure we are competitive and in a suitable position to win business
  • Work with product teams to drive a Thought Leadership - position recognized in the industry
  • Address clients' profitability challenges and improve the rigor of our pricing processes to mitigate industry price compression
  • Ensure strategic alignment between sales effort and long-term client goals
  • Increase State Street market reputation as a global leader of products and services to the Asset Manager sector
  • Develop strategic partnerships with State Street senior leaders and other key stakeholders including other segment heads
  • Work together with global segment team across regions to support ALL clients in this segment regardless of country of origin. Financial goals are shared globally to ensure there is absolute and unquestionable partnership across the segment teams to deliver globality and consistency of service and support to global and cross regional clients
  • Drive a solutions driven, client centric culture
  • Drive coverage, sales and create value proportions accretive to this segment of clients. Ownership of the North American P&L for the segment
Reporting Lines
  • Regional Segment Head reports to Regional CEO (Matrix) and Global Segment Head (Hard line)
  • Individuals that cover accounts that map to the segment report to Global Coverage team (Hard line) and to the Regional Segment Head (Matrix)
  • Individuals that work in the dedicated regional segment sales team report to Regional Segment Head (Hard line) and to the Global Coverage and Sales team (Matrix)
  • Dedicated regional segment Client Service individuals that support direct client problem solving and inquiries resolution report to Regional Segment Coverage Leads per client (Hard line) and to the global client service team (Matrix)
Goal setting
  • Financial Goals, wallet share for segment and existing clients goals as well as client acquisition goals are set by Global Segment Head and Regional CEO
  • Regional Segment Head will contribute directly in the goals setting for Country heads in reference to new business with existing clients and prospect clients to be on boarded in their country
Financial Reporting
  • Regional Segment Head will own the full P&L of the segment in Region
  • Must drive sustainable balanced revenue growth across the entire product spectrum of the firm in the Segment regionally
  • Must drive sustainable margin improvement in segment regionally
  • Must support productivity, scale and consistency across the segment activities and solutions regionally
Talent:
Responsible for the quality, seniority and performance of all members of the Regional Segment team
