Basic Purpose

The RFP Specialist reports to the RFP Manager and works closely with all members of the RFP team. As Eaton Vance fully integrates with Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), the Eaton Vance RFP team will join the MSIM Business Development Services (BDS) team. BDS supports Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s investment teams, consultant relations, institutional and intermediary new business acquisition efforts. The RFP Specialist will be responsible for the project management and completion of RFPs, RFIs and DDQs; collaborating with investment teams, sales and various stakeholder units throughout the business to manage their execution. The candidate will possess high initiative and the ability to work in a strong team environment. The optimal candidate must possess prior experience; be detail oriented, have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to handle a heavy, deadline-oriented workload.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Respond to quarterly and monthly updates for retail mutual funds and separately managed accounts (SMA). This entails compiling detailed descriptions and data analysis of mutual funds and SMAs from available sources
  • Oversee completion of proposals/questionnaires, including compiling existing language, creating new language as needed, reviewing documents to ensure high quality, error-free final product and to ensure all RFPs/RFIs and DDQs are completed on a timely basis
  • Support all business channels from prospective clients, consultants and 3rd party intermediaries
  • Respond to ad hoc, non-RFP requests for written information
  • Provide updated content to database manager to keep database (Qvidian) current with the most accurate, up-to-date information
  • Acquire broad understanding of Eaton Vance/MSIM strategies and all applicable content and data resources
  • Develop increasingly specialized knowledge of products and understanding of performance
  • Interact with subject matter experts to obtain specialized data or content
  • Contribute to ongoing quality and efficiency improvements
  • Assume other responsibilities as required

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years experience in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of Qvidian (or other RFP data management system), eVestment Alliance, Factset, Powerpoint, Excel, MSOffice applications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently and within established guidelines
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
