We are seeking to hire a Quantitative Trading Research Analyst.  The position, based in Boston, will report to the Manager of Trading Strategy Research within the Trading and Market Strategies group. The individual will work with various teams in the firm including investors, traders, and product managers to enhance implementation and execution of investment ideas. The responsibilities will be drawn from across the asset class spectrum, including Equity, Fixed Income, FX and Derivatives. The individual will work closely with traders and investors to analyze behavior and processes, and help identify and evaluate patterns in the implementation of investment ideas.  The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and numerical aptitude and be an innovative, creative, and clear thinker. Candidate must possess strong ability to understand complex processes and use data science to model and bring simple yet powerful solutions. Strong communication and presentation skills and high level of integrity are required.


The Trading and Market Strategies group was formed to respond to the growing demands from our clients, regulators, and counterparties for a coordinated strategy to address the rapid pace of change and increasing complexity of our market structure - all with a goal to positively impact retained alpha and risk in the investment process for the benefit of our clients.   We seek to create this impact by engaging and educating our internal and external stakeholders with action oriented ideas and requests that reflect our research, analysis, and writings.

The Quantitative Trading Research Analyst will work closely with colleagues from across the firm to carry-out first class research to enhance implementation and execution of investment ideas.

Key focus areas include:

Modeling trading behavior of investors and traders

Evaluating the effectiveness of execution methods and venues

Transaction cost forecasting and measurement

Security selection and weighting skills

Shorter-term alpha characterization and forecasting

Liquidity analysis

Capacity analysis of investment strategies

Portfolio trading analysis and measurement

Strong analytical aptitude and capability to perform deep-dive data analysis as well as high-level strategic thinking

Intermediate/advanced programming skills and knowledge of database querying languages

Advanced degree is required in the fields of engineering or a quantitative field.
