The Alternative Investments Product Marketing Specialist is a newly created role in the Global Marketing function. We seek a skilled professional who combines strong alternative investments expertise, product marketing experience, a client perspective, and a commercial lens to partner with product management, investors, fund sponsors, legal & compliance and our client services group to effectively position and communicate our investment capabilities, approaches, and funds externally and internally across traditional and digital channels.

This role is part of a global marketing function with locations in Boston, London, Singapore, and Tokyo. As part of the Americas product marketing team, this individual will also partner closely with our EMEA and APAC product marketing teams, as well as with our channel marketers who are aligned with our global client-facing teams. Global Marketing also includes teams dedicated to content creation and management (writing/editing/proofreading, readership optimization and content tagging), design (digital and print), marketing operations and project management, digital marketing, and events.

  • Review our current alternative investments product messaging and materials and identify areas for improvement, bringing an external and commercial perspective
  • Incorporate alternative and private equity marketing best practices into how we go to market
  • Analyze, monitor, and provide feedback on industry and peer trends to ensure content and positioning are relevant and compelling
  • Define and develop compelling and differentiated marketing materials for select alternative investment approaches/funds, partnering with product management and investors for investment messaging, and client-facing teams for commercial context
  • Incorporate practices such as competitive intelligence, target audience definition, and market positioning into the development of product marketing materials
  • Support global alternatives marketing campaign for key investment capabilities, partnering with global channel marketing colleagues
  • Collaborate with Client Services Group and product management on sales training and support, as well as dissemination of new materials
  • Previous alternative investments marketing experience, preferably in private markets (5-10 years)
  • Strong technical product and investment knowledge across alternative investments, including privates
  • Ability to both create content and provide strategic marketing input
  • Ability to tell product 'stories' through content that will engage a variety of audiences, including institutional and intermediary decision makers
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and intellectual curiosity
  • Global mindset; experience in working across borders (particularly in continental Europe and with colleagues in the U.S. and Asia), time zones and cultures
  • Flexibility and the ability to partner effectively with others, seek a wider audience, build consensus, influence, and act decisively
