The intern position is in the Regional and Community Outreach department (R&CO). The role of the department is to strengthen the prospects of smaller cities, promote household financial stability, and expand employment opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents. You will be a member of a small research team within R&CO that uses qualitative and quantitative methods to conduct applied research on issues that impact low- and moderate-income families. You will work with the research team on an ongoing project related to household debt in New England. This will require conducting quantitative analyses, creating data visualizations, and writing literature reviews. The intern will also be required to assist policy analysts on ad hoc projects as needed.
Be a graduate student in public policy/public affairs, sociology, political science, urban planning, economics, or similar field
Have experience using statistical software (Stata preferred) and Excel
Experience with other visualization software (e.g. Tableau) is desirable but not necessary
Be highly detail oriented
Be able to multi-task on several ongoing projects
Be interested in the structural determinants of inequality and in social policy
Be interested in qualitative methods
