IT Product Manager – Digital Toolkit

The IT Product Manager will need to be a hands-on technical product owner with a discipline to understand and articulate user needs and deliver well elegant product design and architecture. This role is part of a team responsible for the establishment of an enterprise digital toolkit to accelerate Fidelity's drive for digitizing customer interactions and automating business processes. The ideal candidate will have experience developing, launching and supporting innovative products including third-party vendor, open source and cloud based software products. The role requires at least 5 years of technology experience in a progressive and digital environment, ideally within financial services or another regulated industry. The role is based in Boston, Massachusetts.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency at applying innovative technologies at scale to "real world" problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering and technical product management pedigree. He/She will play a critical support role evaluating and delivering advanced, modern and digital process capabilities to improve the customer and associate experience, as well as to reduce unit costs. The ideal candidate will also bring experience of working within a matrix organization where relationship building is paramount, while at the same time being entrepreneurial and moving fast.

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • A track record for working successfully across business functions and also at an enterprise level.
  • Has demonstrated a collaborative style in working with other team members at all levels of the organization
  • 5 years software product management and relevant technology experience
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching software products
  • Demonstrated success in evaluating and implementing third party software products including open source and cloud based products from vendors such as AWS, Microsoft or Google.
  • Competency and understanding of the digital customer experience and process automation domains including modern capabilities for work intake, customer collaboration and self-service, workflow, business process management, robotic process automation and intelligent automation
  • Excellence in product management along with strong communication and presentation skills
  • BS/BA required; Masters or equivalent preferred


The Purpose of Your Role

The IT Product Manager will be part of a team responsible for defining and establishing an enterprise digital toolkit. The toolkit will include a common set of proven enterprise grade technology assets, products and utilities that enable digitization and automation of customer (and partner) journeys, experiences and interactions with Fidelity. This role's responsibilities will include supporting the tool evaluation process and criteria. This role will also be responsible for building an online portal and community (marketplace) for the enterprise digital toolkit.

  • Drives competitive analysis, technology partner selection, business communications, and customer satisfaction
  • Leads cross functional teams chartered with delivering mission-critical products to internal and channel customers
  • Defines the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the enterprise digital toolkit based on competitive, customer and strategic objectives
  • Drives the generation of user stories, the setting of iteration and release plans, the setting and review of architecture/design artifacts, and the approval of iteration exit and release sign-off criteria as part of the Agile process.
  • Defines and reviews product architectural goals and design principles that ensure the best product deliverable
  • Drives the product lifecycle from strategic planning through software release, working with Delivery team
  • Contributes to internal sales positioning, messaging, collateral and business development efforts.
  • Ultimately responsible the success or failure of a product release success or failure based on financial targets and customer adoption
  • Owner of the product master backlog containing features, functions, user interface and technology enhancements and ensuring it is continually updated and prioritized for business value and effort.
  • Keeps up with new technology and product innovations in the industry
  • Leads vendor product assessment and experimentation
  • Maintain relationships with customers, business and technology partners.
