The incumbent, with guidance from their managers, will develop and execute the various elements of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERM Framework). The individual will independently conduct assigned responsibilities within the ERM Framework and must be capable of completing a range of complex tasks and analysis that demonstrate proper review and challenge. This position will be the Operational Risk Executive for Client Delivery Management (CDM) in Global Delivery.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, support and oversight to responsible business units with respect to State Streets risk management policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Facilitate and collaborate with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and other colleagues to implement the ongoing development of a sound risk management framework and support of a global governance program. Review and participated as needed in the risk assessment process (Targeted Risk Assessments or Post Mortem) to independently review and challenge the process and controls of the business making valuable recommendations to assist in risk mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain an ERM Framework, including risk management policies, procedures and reporting, which addresses the identification, measurement, monitoring, reporting and management of various categories of risk to which State Street is potentially exposed. Utilize available risk management tools in order to execute the ERM Framework conducting independent risk analysis, oversight, review and challenge.
  • Analyze risks and recommend appropriate internal control improvements. Independently manage projects designed to improve risk management strategies.
  • Investigate and assess operational losses; analyze root causes and trends for material risk items.
  • Provide analysis on risk reporting suitable for executive management review which highlights key exposures and areas of focus, while meeting regulatory requirements. Monitor business changes and advise senior management on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, internal and external advisors and other internal control groups on risk related issues.
  • Responsible for the direction and training of staff as applicable.
  • Other duties to support risk management initiatives as assigned.

    Education and Experience

Bachelors degree or equivalent 8+ years risk experience and experience in the services provided and functions performed by the business units Proven interpersonal and communication skills Strong organization, project management and leadership skills Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills Strong decision-making skills Strong computer skills Team player Ability to negotiate, influence and build consensus Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships within the business units and across the corporation while maintaining a level of challenge.
